Job Description Summary / TWC Summary:The Department of Computer Science at Texas Southern University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position, starting in Fall 2025. We are seeking highly motivated candidates with expertise in computing, security, or closely related areas. While applicants from all relevant areas will be considered, preference will be given to those whose research emphasizes applied domains with a focus on computer systems software, such as distributed systems, cloud computing, edge computing, or software engineering. This is a 9-month tenure-track position with opportunities for summer teaching and research support. Essential Duties Summary:- Teach the required full-time teaching load including first-year Freshman CS courses based on TSU faculty manual.
- Participation in Department core curriculum planning and program assessment.
- Leadership and participation in CS Department research and professional development, and academic advising and mentoring of both graduate and undergraduate students.
- Participation in community service activities.
- Teaches at the undergraduate and/or the graduate levels.
- Engages in and promotes active research and teaching related to areas in computing and security.
- Secure external research grant and publish the research papers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Hiring Range:$87,301.25 - $113,492.00
Education:A Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited institution.

Work Experience:- A record of significant research achievement and publication.
- A coherent research and teaching plan showing the potential to secure external research funding, build a research program in computing and security area of specialty, and
- Contribute to the department’s both graduate and undergraduate teaching mission, and sensitivity to issues of diversity in the campus community.
- Active research agenda in Computing and Security preferred.
- At least two (2) referenced Journal publications at time of hire preferred.
