Job Description Summary / TWC Summary:Under general supervision oversees electrical technicians, inform supervisor of problems and issues as they develop. Performs maintenance on Electrical equipment as required. May lead electrical projects. To maintain the electrical system on campus and correct electrical problems and assist other departments in electrical issues.
Essential Duties Summary:- Trouble shoots, diagnose and corrects electrical problems in low to medium voltages, such as, trip breakers by a short in the wire and like a bad control sensor that don’t work. Maintains all interior and exterior lights throughout the campus, such as changing bad lights and ballast.
- Assists other departments in electrical work when needed. Repairs or replacing bad switches outlets.
- Services electrical equipment by using standard and specialized tools. Like boom lifts and ladders.
- Completes all other relevant duties as assigned. Assists A/C and plumbers in there electrical issues that they can’t correct.
- Maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of all Lighting (exterior and Interior) throughout the entire campus and building in cooperation with the TSU campus.
- Maintains, repairs and troubleshoots any and all Electrical equipment /components/ devices i.e., outlets, panels, HVAC, plumbing equipment and any/all equipment that requires electricity. Installs, replaces, and repairs all Ceiling tiles throughout the campus due water damage, leaks, and or general repair.
- New Construction Projects: Installs new Electrical equipment to provide electrical power to machinery and or lighting additional outlets throughout campus for new equipment. Installs add on to support electrical outlets and electrical panel and associated equipment.
- Demolition and renovation of offices and spaces for new space assignments to meet the needs of our customers. Removes, replaces, and relocates lighting and power to accommodate power and lighting requirement based on blueprints and request per supervisors. Repairs due to due to emergencies i.e., water leaks, equipment failure, fire, or anything assigned. Emergency Callout- respond to on campus emergencies due to power loss, equipment failure and or damage too.
- Repairs and replaces parts which may require response at any hour of the night and weekends. Provides on sight assistance during assigned outages to make necessary repairs by contractors and or departmental directive.
- Provides assistance to Contractors to conduct work throughout campus and insure the accessibility and guidance in the new installation and or repair of electrical equipment.
- Performs maintenance on Electrical equipment as required.
- May lead and complete projects involving electrical projects.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Hiring Range:$26.46 - $33.74
Education:Some college or Associate’s degree (A.A.) and/or vocational or technical school and/or specialized training or certification.
Required Licensing/Certification:Valid Texas Driver’s License preferred.
Journeyman Trade License (Electrical).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of:
- Electrical code requirements and practices.
- MEP Systems and other work related systems.
- Requires full/complete knowledge in multiple disciplines and serves as an ultimate subject matter expert in at least one discipline or function. Demonstrates full command of technical and functional principles, procedures, and subject matter in multiple disciplines to handle any situation and lead or train others.

Work Experience:Three (3) to (5) five years related experience.
Maintenance, Commercial or Industrial electrician experience preferred.
