Job Description Summary / TWC Summary:JOB SUMMARY:The maintenance planner is responsible for ensuring that maintenance activities both repetitive and proactive are planned, scheduled, and tracked in an efficient and effective manner. Possess capability to identify, locate and source required materials/equipment required for repair. Anticipate potential problems before they arise (defect prevention and avoidable delays) and create a plan of action to address them. Reports to Facilities Director of Maintenance.

Essential Duties Summary:- Creating, maintaining and reviewing a program of work
- Ensuring that work/repairs are completed on time and within budget
- Producing progress reports and forecasts for team members, clients and stakeholders
- Breaking large jobs down into phases of development
- Working with estimators to calculate the resources needed for a project
- Meeting with contractors and suppliers
- Demonstrating knowledge mechanical, electrical and plumbing repair
- Writing scopes of work for bid
- Support of Craft Supervisors
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Hiring Range:$64,197.37 - $81,851.64
Education:Undergraduate degree or Associate’s degree in a closely related subject like information management, facility management, or engineering, relevant work experience.
Required Licensing/Certification:Recognized Certified Maintenance Planner Course (with equivalent experience)
Valid Texas Driver’s License preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of:
- Best practices in planning and scheduling systems in adherence to university standards for maintenance of buildings and equipment.
- Ability to comprehend and explain University policies, procedures, and practices as they relate to commercial construction.
- Interpret and apply Safety guidelines to daily work.
- Demonstrates full/complete subject matter knowledge in area of responsibility. Requires command of technical and functional procedures, and lead and/or review the work of others in multiple job classifications performing diverse responsibilities.
- Microsoft Office Professional, TMA (Work Request system) or similar applications.
Skill in:- Conduct inventory and surveillance of required materials and supplies for crafts
- Problem-solving and decision-making.

Ability to:- Respond to unplanned events (emergency situations) during and after standard hours to accommodate the needs of the university.

Work Experience:- Five (5) to seven (7) years of related experience.
- Strong computer skills with experience in Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Working/Environmental Conditions:- Prolonged standing and/or walking.

- Using or carrying equipment.
- Stoop, bend or lift.
- Exposure to moderate risk of accident.
