Job Description Summary / TWC Summary:Under general supervision performs preventive maintenance, routine and emergency repairs on plumbing systems. Maintains, inspects, repairs and assures unrestricted flow of complex waste disposal systems throughout the University facilities.
Essential Duties Summary:- Take care of emergencies and respond, do work orders, check buildings do walk through, restrooms, lift stations for sanitary and for storm lift stations.
- Do work requests and analyst situation on request, make visit to visualize request. Then process work order such as faucet replacement, toilets, etc. Whatever is needed on work order to process. Gets quotes from vendors, order parts for repairs, pick up parts off campus as needed.
- Assists other department areas when assistance is needed.
- Take care of University water fountains, make sure working properly, drain and clean quarterly, make repairs on two sections: pump and mechanical section.
- Inspects tunnels make sure there is no flooding, check pumps, correct issues, check primary and secondary pumps.
- New Construction Projects: Installs new Plumbing equipment throughout campus for new equipment. Installs add on to support plumbing outlets, water closets and associated equipment and systems.
- Works with portable trash gas driven pumps made to pump out water used as needed. Checks hoses, oil and maintenance needed on trash pump.
- Sometimes handle emergency water situations when needed.
- Assists co-workers with duties when needed since we are only two plumbers, co-operate with others and coordinate with supervisors and other co-workers. Keeps maintenance upkeep on some equipment. Assists HVAC with some situations. Try to be proactive in daily work.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Has knowledge and understanding for inspection, repair and reporting of University back-flow preventers.

Hiring Range:$64,197.37 - $81,851.64
Education:Some college or Associate’s degree (A.A.) and/or vocational or technical school and/or specialized training.
Required Licensing/Certification:Journeyman Plumbing License.Valid Texas Driver’s License.
