About the Job
This position aims to advance research initiatives at the
intersection of human development and livestock sustainability. The
Postdoctoral Associate (Job code: 9546) will collaborate closely
with an interdisciplinary team of researchers from animal science,
education, and social sciences, contributing to projects that
explore both the educational and societal dimensions of livestock
sustainability. Additionally, this role involves developing
innovative curricula to teach complex animal systems at both the
undergraduate and graduate levels, while conducting research to
evaluate the impact of curriculum development on sustainable
livestock practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to interdisciplinary research activities and project
management [60%]:
- Grant search and writing
- Research collaborator recruitment
- Develop and implement curricula that integrate human
development concepts with livestock sustainability.
- Invite guest speakers to lectures and graduate seminars.
- Conduct interdisciplinary research examining the effects of
livestock practices on community and societal outcomes.
- Explore workforce education and community engagement
initiatives within the agricultural sector.
- Contribute to scholarly publications utilizing qualitative
research methodologies [20%] (e.g., ASAS Presidential Addresses
paper and other papers)
- Foreign guest workers coordinator [10%]: Create an inclusive
and supportive professional learning community for international
guest workers (e.g., TN visa holders)
- Talent recruitment for livestock production systems [10%] (Pork
Prospect project and other projects)

of research and teaching activities.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in a relevant field such as education, human
development, or social sciences.
- Experience with qualitative research methodologies and
curriculum development.
- Strong collaborative and communication skills, with an emphasis
on interdisciplinary teamwork.

Pay and Benefits
Pay Range: $58,656 - $63,000
