Advertised Job Summary
The University of South Carolina Joseph F. Rice School of Law is seeking a visiting assistant professor to teach clinical law school courses during the 2024-25, 2025-2026, and the 2026-2027academic years. This visiting appointment will be effective April 1, 2025 through May 15, 2027. Courses may include a Federal Practice Clinic course. The visiting assistant professor will be actively engaged in producing legal scholarship ultimately resulting in publication as visiting assistant professor of the School of Law. Applicants should have substantial knowledge of and practice experience litigating in the federal court system. Preferred qualifications include prior employment as a government attorney at a federal agency. Applicants should also have strong academic credentials and be able to demonstrate a high probability of success as a teacher and a willingness to contribute to the law school’s academic community.
Required Education and Experience
JD and at least 5 years practice experience.
