About the role:
This post is an exciting opportunity that would be suited to those interested in taking their next career step in the world of medical education within the Undergraduate Primary Care Education Unit at Imperial College London.
The Faculty Development Manager for Undergraduate Primary Care Education will oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of faculty development programmes aimed at enhancing teaching and learning in primary care education at the undergraduate level and ensuring that faculty are well-equipped to deliver high-quality primary care education to undergraduate students. They will foster a supportive and inclusive environment for faculty development that encourages lifelong learning and continuous improvement.
What you would be doing:
- Recruitment of GP Teachers including practice visits and overseeing the approval process.
- Maintain regular communication with GP teachers through a variety of means supporting GP teachers to develop a community of practice.
- Develop a full and varied faculty development programme for community GP teachers in collaboration with the faculty development lead.
- Quality assurance of GP placements includingmanaging issues relating to GP teacher performance and student feedback.
- Develop tools and mechanisms to evaluate the effectiveness of faculty development programmes.
- Analyse and provide reports for placement leads, the faculty development lead and the placement management team from the University’s electronic evaluation system.
- Collaboration & Networking: Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with stakeholders while identifying opportunities for collaboration.
- Management of GP trainee posts.
What we are looking for:
- Educated to Undergraduate degree level.
- Experience of working within an NHS or Higher Education setting.
- Experience of implementing and monitoring quality assurance and enhancement processes in an NHS or higher education setting.
- Good understanding of the organisation of general practice and current developments in primary care.
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant IT systems such as Excel, Access, Qualtrics, Power BI.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse faculty and students.
