Job Description:
The University at Albany's Office of Procurement Services is seeking an enthusiastic Compliance Coordinator to make a real impact and help us build a more inclusive future.
The Compliance Coordinator will drive supplier diversity and actively champion the cause to take affirmative action to ensure that Minority, Women Business Enterprises (MWBE) and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Businesses (SDVOB), certified by New York State, are given the opportunity to demonstrate their ability to provide the University with goods and services at competitive prices. The Compliance Coordinator will ensure and maintain compliance for procurement activities in line with Executive Law Article 15-A and Executive Law Article 17-B, focusing on securing adequate participation in projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee University compliance with Executive Law Articles 15-A (MWBE) and 17-B (SDVOB) with respect to University at Albany's procurement activities by ensuring that the applicable Articles, New York State procurement rules and SUNY procurement policies and procedures are adhered. Oversight includes providing guidance to University Purchasing Associates and the University community including procurement document review.
- Establish contractual MWBE and SDVOB goals, utilizing B2Gnow business diversity software, perform outreach efforts and request full or partial waiver requests.
- Act as the primary campus liaison between the University, SUNY System Administration, Prime Contractors and MWBE's / SDVOB's with respect to 15-A and 17-B compliance requirements.
- Monitor and assist Prime Contractors to ensure that MWBE and SDVOB utilization is obtained throughout the entire procurement process (contract award through contract conclusion).
- Manage and administer the MWBE and SDVOB compliance database (B2G) by ensuring tasks are completed accurately and promptly.
- Compile data and campus reports related to the MWBE/SDVOB program such as MWBE and SDVOB utilization, waiver requests/approvals, etc.
- Maintain and update Procurement Services Website.
- Collaborate in various procurement activities and reporting initiatives.
- Other reasonable duties as assigned

Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization
- Professional experience in an office environment
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a higher education environment
- Familiarity with New York State MWBE and SDVOB program
- Experience in Procurement, Supplier Diversity, or related field
Additional Information:
Professional Rank and Salary Grade: Purchase Assistant, SL-3, $60,000-$63,000
