Job Title:Fiscal SpecialistDepartment:ERIK | University Laboratory and Animal Resources
The Fiscal Specialist is responsible for managing financial activities within the Animal Care and Use Program under the direction of the Senior Director. Serves as the primary contact for multiple units within the Animal Care and Use Program (ACUP) including University Laboratory Animal Resources (ULAR), Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), and Office of the Attending Veterinarian (OAV). Manages procurement of supplies in support of all ACUP operations. Identifies cost efficient product sourcing and availability. Participates in maintaining appropriate inventory levels of daily use products in support of all operations. Performs expense reconciliation and variance resolution, including maintenance of financial records. Coordinates surplus equipment disposal and asset management, working closely with ERIK Finance and Business Administration for guidance. Serves as animal census and billing coordinator by collecting ULAR room census information and adding special services billings into the eProtocol database for invoicing. Prepares purchase orders for all unit needs, including preparation of Bid Waivers for single source vendors. Resolves accounting issues associated with purchase orders/invoices. Approves invoices for payment in Workday. On a weekly basis, gathers data on operation’s needs, then places orders with appropriate vendors for food and bedding in support of animal care needs. Trouble shoots any issues that arise with these orders. Serves as the PCard manager. Manages procurement card purchases and reconciliation in Workday. Manages check deposits, cash sales, and. processes reimbursements for employees. Provides guidance on policies and procedures. Works closely with unit leads on financial activities within assigned units. Participates in scheduling and tracking travel requests. Works closely with the Enterprise for Research, Innovation and Knowledge as it relates to financial operations within ACUP and supporting units. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Qualifications
Required: Bachelor’s level degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience. Competent in Microsoft applications, including Excel.
Desired: Bachelor’s level degree. Minimum of 2-4 years of relevant work experience. Administrative experience; knowledge of university policies, rules and regulations; strong verbal and written communication skills; Workday experience; proven ability to provide a professional environment with all levels of customers inside and outside the university. Familiarity with animal care operations.

Additional Information:
The salary range for this position is $55,100 to $72,400. The offer for this position will fall within this salary range based on internal equity, the candidate's qualifications, and the unit's available budget being the primary determining factor.
