Description
The Department of Nutritional Sciences in the College of Natural
Sciences at the University of Texas (UT) at Austin invites
applications for Department Chair. The successful applicant will be
appointed at the Full Professor level and hold the David Bruton,
Jr. Centennial Professorship in Nutrition. Applicants will be
expected to have an internationally recognized research program and
demonstrated leadership abilities in fostering transformational and
collaborative science and consensus building among
colleagues.
We are seeking to expand our strengths in interdisciplinary
research, molecular nutrition, behavioral nutrition, clinical and
community nutrition interventions, and nutrition and chronic
disease prevention/management. Applicants should have a vision for
continued growth for nutritional sciences within the Department and
across other UT units. The Department values all aspects of the

composition, and nutritional assessment. Research is enhanced by
state-of-the art core facilities available through the Center for
Biomedical Research Support (

including genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, spatial
transcriptomics, bioinformatics, mouse genetic engineering, and
imaging. Research requiring high performance computing,
visualization, and big data analytics is possible through the Texas
Advanced Computing Center (TACC;

The Department of Nutritional Sciences has strong relationships
with many units within The UT Dell Medical School (
