Job Description
- Ensures the security of a building or area of campus and the
safety of occupants/patrons
- Focuses on completing work effectively, efficiently, and in a
timely fashion
- Understands how the assigned and/or routine tasks integrate
with others in the team
- Uses existing procedures to solve straightforward problems and
perform tasks/activities
- Recognizes and solves typical problems that can occur in own
work area without supervisory approval
- Impacts the quality of own work and begins to impact the work
of others
Key Responsibilities
- Patrol designated areas in and around buildings and provide
assistance when needed
- Perform guard duties at a designated post
- Lock doors on university campus
- Prevent improper removal of materials
- Handle lost & Found items
- Monitor Alarms and answer phone calls
- Prepare incident reports
- Enforce regulations of university parking lots, refusing entry
if necessary
- Provide traffic control assistance & security at special
activities such as concerts, sporting events, graduation, etc.
- Drive shuttle service vans for Parking Lot Operations
Shift
This shift is from 4:00PM to 12:00AM including the Weekend
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or experience from which comparable knowledge
and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications
- Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions
- A valid driver’s license is required
Anticipated Hiring Range
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established
at $15.00 hourly.
Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not
limited to, the individual’s particular combination of education,
skills, and experience, as well as organizational
requirements.
