The role
This is a unique opportunity to join Bristol University Press (BUP) as part of our sales team. As an international publisher of social science books and journals, BUP has seen impressive sales growth since it was formed in 2016 and was awarded the 2024 Independent Professional and Academic Publisher of the Year.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, confident Sales and Customer Services Coordinator to provide sales and customer support to the Books Division. The role will assist in delivering trade sales campaigns, consumer digital campaigns and market research. This role reports directly into the Global Sales Manager
What will you be doing?
You will be the first point of contact for sales and customer queries, and you will be responsible for handling day-to-day sales-related enquiries from institutions, individuals, and sales representatives.
You will be responsible for the running of essential reports, the creation of bookstore newsletters, and supporting the wider sales team by managing print and ebook customer service queries, updating material collateral for international markets, and participating in team meetings.
There are many opportunities in the role to bring creative ideas to build sales and marketing campaign plans and help develop the BUP brand across the international market.
You should apply if
The successful candidate will have strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle competing priorities. Independence and initiative will be required to meet tight deadlines and accuracy and attention to detail are crucial. Experience of working in a customer service or sales administrative role in a busy office environment, with good experience of Excel, is essential and ideally you will have some knowledge of the publishing industry.
