TEACHING AND RESEARCH
OVERVIEW
Are you passionate and have a deep commitment to the supervision and teaching of the next generation of psychologists? We are looking to appoint you to supervise and train our Professional and Clinical Psychology students.
THE ROLE
We are looking for a passionate psychology educator with great skills in student clinical supervision and the ability also to teach in classroom settings to continue ECU’s great reputation for producing outstanding psychology graduates. As senior clinical supervisor you will have primary responsibility for the day-to-date supervision of students, working with colleagues also engaged in supervision on a casual basis. We value your own commitment to maintaining a psychological practice with a fractional appointment available via negotiation to ensure the best fit between your needs and ours; the level of appointment (Lecturer or Senior Lecturer) will be determined based on the experience and skills of the successful candidate. Depending on the applications received there may be more than one part-time appointment available.
You will mainly be providing supervision to postgraduate psychology students undertaking placements at our Psychological Services Centre (PSC) located in Wanneroo and our developing service In Yanchep, while also contributing to the teaching of these students in preparatory classes at our Joondalup Campus. You will work with Director, PSC and have close working relationships to the course coordinators of our various psychology postgraduate degrees and the School’s Work-Integrated Learning team who support placement operations. You can expect a positive collegial work environment and should be a great team player who is able to balance the needs of individual students, colleagues, and yourself within a university context that embraces links with industry and community. We see this role as providing career opportunities to develop a more senior academic role with a focus on clinical education in the years ahead.

In 2026, the School will begin to operate its creative humanities program from our outstanding new ECU City Campus while maintaining and expanding operations at ECU’s Joondalup and South-West (regional) campuses. We have established strategic directions out to 2029 in pursuit of ambitions to be an outstanding school whose research and teaching build the caring and creative professions and contribute to achieving more equal and positive social relations; fostering the realisation of individual human potential; and enabling diverse creative expression.
