General information
Research and teaching at the Chair of Econometrics & Statistics focuses on the analysis of multivariate time series data. Topics of interest include structural breaks, forecasting, adaptive learning algorithms, and long memory, both from theoretical and applied perspectives. Empirical applications concentrate on macroeconomic, financial and climate data.
Your mission
- The successful applicant (F/M/D) will conduct theoretical and empirical research in Econometrics, Statistics or Data Science, with the objective of presenting the results at international conferences and publishing them in high-quality research journals.
- There are no teaching obligations, yet the successful applicant (F/M/D) will be given the opportunity to give tutorials or lectures.
- The position is available from 1st June 2025 onwards. The standard contract runs for three years and can be extended up to a maximum of six years.
Your profile
- Applicants are expected to hold, or soon to be holding, a Master’s degree in Econometrics, Statistics or Data Science, or to have majored in one of these areas as part of a degree in a related field.
- Familiarity with computer programming languages such as R, Matlab, Stata or C is required.
- Proficiency in English is taken for granted; knowledge of German is not necessary.
