SALARY & HOURS: Band 1, Spine Point 2 (£22,964) Hours: 7:00-15:00
To be a fundamental part of the housekeeping team in maintaining all areas of the University campus and associated accommodation to a set standard, working under the management of the Domestic Services Management Team.
Working in the cleaning team you will provide a consistently high standard of cleanliness and presentation throughout the University campus, cleaning all areas of the campus. This will include general cleaning of offices, classrooms, bedrooms, toilets and conference facilities and Accommodation.
Main duties and responsibilities include:
- Provide a cleaning service as directed by the Domestic Services Management Team including before and after events such as conferences and University events.
- Ensure each area is provided with a high standard of cleanliness and preparation throughout the University campus adhering to cleaning schedules and checklists.
- Ensure that cleaning tasks are carried out safely, with due regard to university students, staff, visitors and members of the public, ensuring that all equipment used is cleaned and returned on completion of cleaning tasks.
- Promote good customer relations with all groups (Students, Staff & Visitors)
- Ensure, that all aspects of the Health & Safety at Work are adhered to, staff will receive regular training updates.
- Ensure that all equipment is maintained to a high standard.
- To receive training and development from the cleaning management team and from any other internal or external training establishments.
- Promote quality control.
- Support appropriate auditing.
- This role may be required to work at weekends in support of key University events.
- To carry out such duties as are required and are commensurate with the level of this post. Estates operate a “one team approach” to the delivery of services, therefore post holders will be expected to support and cover for staff in other areas of the Department completing work that is within their training and responsibilities for their grade
