Job Summary:The Enrollment Counselor is a member of the Enrollment Services Team and is responsible for providing information, coaching, and assistance to prospective students, families and secondary counselors on the academic, financial, curricular, and co-curricular offerings of LSCPA. They are also the face of LSCPA representing the college at high school and community events. Other duties as assigned.
Must be a multi-task oriented individual with an appreciation for working within deadlines; excellent communication skills, including public speaking; excellent customer service skills and the ability to deal with prospective students, families, faculty and staff in professional manner.
Candidates must also be able to demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of students from diverse backgrounds; plan, schedule, and manage projects and assignments; and establish effective working relationships with others.
Minimum Qualifications:Associate degree or higher.
One year of experience providing effective college counseling, recruiting, or student service related area in higher education. (Related student work and/or internship experience will be considered for this position).
Valid driver’s license or ability to acquire one prior to employment start date.
Understanding of student recruitment, student learning, career development, and other relevant theories in education, social sciences, and humanities.
Advanced skills in the use of a personal computer and software, including Excel and Appointment Plus. Proficient in the use of social media including Facebook, Instagram, twitter, email, text messaging, video capture, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:- Bilingual in Spanish.
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited four-year institution of higher education.
SALARY :Minimum salary - $32,300.00
Work Hours:40 hours a week; Some weekends and evenings required.
Essential Job Functions:Represent LSCPA at various outreach recruitment programs through presentations, information tables, college fairs, and other community events.
Essential Job Functions:Provide personal enrollment coaching for applicants regarding outstanding documents, admissions and registration requirements, financial aid, orientation, testing, etc.
Essential Job Functions:Complete monthly email, text, and phone contact for assigned prospects.
Essential Job Functions:Visit high schools to recruit, guide, and monitor prospective students.
Essential Job Functions:Maintain close working relationships with high school counselors and community organization representatives.
Essential Job Functions:Recommend, design, and create new outreach and recruitment programming and marketing concepts, as well as follow-up strategies for prospective students.
Essential Job Functions:Develop an understanding of the Banner Student Information Systems and Argos reports to document, track, and identify students’ admissions and enrollment status.
Essential Job Functions:Work as a member of the Enrollment Services Team to met established recruitment goals and increase enrollment at LSCPA, particularly first time freshmen and transfers.
