Compliance & Fund Management Officer in the Coastal Educational Foundation.The CEF Compliance and Fund Management Officer is responsible for the successful compliance & fund management of all CEF gift agreements in support of Coastal Carolina University. Professional responsibilities include fostering a close working relationship with donors, staff and faculty while ensuring proper fund management and continued compliance with donor criteria as well as all internal policies, procedures and Bylaws; to include state and federal laws.

SC State Pay Band: 06. Salary range: $46,655.00 (minimum) - $66,488.00 (midpoint). Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university.Duties
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Gift Agreements; responsible for the creation of new gift agreements as well as the long-term compliance and fund management of all existing gift agreements.
Donor Liaison; serve as the CEF liaison for donors/fund-holders as they create their new gift agreement. Assure that donor is educated on management fees, spending policy, annual statements, etc. Maintain current and accurate records.
Scholarships, Endowments and Other; work directly with the Office of Financial Aid, faculty and staff to ensure that scholarships are awarded and criteria is followed. Initiate and pursue resolution of non-awarded scholarships. Work with CEF Chief Financial Officer on financial standing of pledges, inactive funds and annual statements.
Audit(s); conduct on-going audits of all agreements; endowments, annual, scholarship, program, naming, etc. Sample random agreements and programs to ensure compliance. Identify and resolve issues with non-awarded or non-compliant agreements.
Policies and Procedures; create and maintain a written procedures manual on CEF “Compliance and Fund Management”. Remain knowledgeable and up-to-date on relevant CEF and CCU policies/procedures and all relevant state and federal laws.
Qualifications
- Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree and relevant experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with non-profits, financial aid, scholarships, endowments, or related.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Excellent organizational skills, time management and computer skills. Ability to read and comprehend written agreements at a high level. Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
