Are you an experienced HR professional looking for an opportunity to lead and develop a team in a forward-thinking organisation? The Bedford College Group is seeking an HR Manager to provide strategic and operational HR leadership across our Northamptonshire campuses.
As part of a committed and dynamic team, you will play a key role in delivering a high-quality HR service, ensuring best practice in employee relations, workforce management, and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading and developing – Managing and mentoring a team of HR professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Employee relations expertise – Overseeing complex ER cases, providing expert guidance, and ensuring compliance with employment legislation.
- Strategic HR influence – Supporting our Heads of HR to drive cultural change, organisational development, and employee engagement.
- Policy and process development – Supporting the creation and implementation of HR policies that align with best practice and business objectives.
- Driving continuous improvement – Embedding a culture of high performance and inclusion across the organisation.
What We Are Looking For
- CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent experience in a senior HR role).
- Strong background in employee relations and HR advisory services.
- Proven line management experience, with the ability to coach and develop a team.
- Expert knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-site organisation, balancing strategic and operational priorities.
- Passion for people development and a commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture.

About The Bedford College Group
The Bedford College Group was formed in 2017 following the merger of Bedford College and Tresham College and is now the largest provider of education in the South East Midlands, with over 15,000 students passing through our doors each year.
