We have a rare opportunity to join the Bursarial Office for a fixed-term contract of 6 months to start as soon as possible.
The role is to support the Junior Bursar with undertaking a wide range of administrative duties for and on behalf of the Junior Bursar including representing him at all times in an administrative capacity. You will be taking responsibility for his contact with students, staff, Fellows, alumni and external visitors.
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Excellent interpersonal, organisational and IT skills
- Solid administrative and office experience.
- Strong communication abilities.
- Abilities to work independently and as part of the team, as and when needed.
- Meticulous attention to details.
- Abilities to handle tasks with empathy, discretion, and diplomacy.
- Abilities to approach challenging situations with a calm and composed attitude.
This is for a minimum of 5 days a week on site, Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:00 including one-hour unpaid lunch break.
Duties
This is a varied post with duties to include:
- Maintaining the Junior Bursar's diary, greeting visitors to the office, handling correspondence, answering and handling telephone calls.
- Undertaking College Meeting administration: drafting agenda, compiling/distribution of papers and acting as minute taker.
- Convening, attending and taking notes at the quarterly HODs meeting.
- Administering the Staff Appraisals process.
- Drafting a wide range of personnel related correspondence for approval.
- Responsible for liaising with the County Council around parking permit requirements.
Interviews and appointment may proceed before closing date should some applicants prove to fulfil job criteria.
