The Future Technologies cluster is the premiere Engineering and IT cluster at RMIT University, demonstrated through the winning of the 2023 Vice-Chancellors Leadership Impact award, the 2023 Cisco Partnership Excellence award and winning national gold medals at WorldSkills & the Global Skills Challenge. We have a combination of highly talented educators, in-demand programs, cutting-edge facilities, vast industry partnerships and fantastic STEM students. Due to the growth in our Cyber Security and Information Technology engineering programs of delivery, we are seeking a new Program Coordinator to work with the Program Manager to provide operational support to the ICT program area. We offer an easy to access city-based location, a newly refurbished staff office space, and flexibility of work.
About the Position
As the Program Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the entire process of designing, developing, delivering, and evaluating innovative, tailor-made vocational education and training programs of the highest quality. Additionally, you will be responsible for efficiently managing staff resources and overseeing student administration within your designated areas of responsibility.
To be successful in this position, you'll have:
- Capacity to coordinate the work of staff in the development and implementation of VE programs.
- Educational leadership skills that effectively promote teaching and learning including effective interpersonal and communication skills, presentation, facilitation and counselling skills.
- Ability to contribute effectively as a constructive and proactive member of a team.
- Teaching experience in the area of this position, including evidence in the use of effective innovative and flexible teaching methods.
- Skills and experience in competency-based assessment.
- Experience in relevant industry, and substantial and current discipline knowledge
- A sound knowledge and understanding of the vocational education, higher education and training sector, and of the training requirements of relevant industries.
- Ability in ensuring current and contemporary vocational competence which meets and/or exceeds the education level being delivered and assessed.
- Skills in the use of information and communication technologies.
- An understanding of resources management issues, including finance, facilities, management, OH&S, Equal Opportunity and Industrial Relations.
Qualifications:
- Diploma VET as a minimum
- Information Technology specific qualification/s
