Job Summary
The University of North Georgia (UNG) is currently accepting applications for the position of Reference Services Librarian. This is a 12-month, full-time tenure track position.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, deliver, and market library instruction classes, workshops, and research consultations. Create learning objects and instructional materials. Collaborate with faculty and committees in achieving information literacy learning outcomes. Collaborate with faculty and teaching staff in library instruction. Conduct library collection development and management in assigned subject areas.
- Provide reference, circulation, and general assistance for students, faculty, staff, and the community at the Gainesville Campus Library and remote assistance as needed.
- Participate in scholarship and professional development through publications, research, workshop, and webinar attendance, and/or presentations.
- Represent the library and/or university at campus, local, state, regional, and/or national meetings and conferences. Work with campus partners across multiple units through service on committees and/or holding office. Occasional travel between campuses.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Superior knowledge of library resources; successful classroom teaching or other library instruction experience
- High level of competence with computers, integrated library systems, and instructional technologies
- Excellent written and oral communication skills

- Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Required Qualifications
- The successful candidate must have an MLS or MLIS from an ALA-accredited institution.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least two years academic library experience preferred. Background in classroom, online, or other library instruction is preferred.
- Experience with library content management systems (e.g. Springshare) is preferred.
