The Department of Biology at Washington and Lee University invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor of Biology, beginning July 1, 2025. This position carries a 6-course teaching load distributed over Fall and Winter terms (12 weeks each) and the university's 4-week Spring Term. Candidates should be prepared to teach a 200-level course in Biostatistics, a 300-level course in their area of expertise and two to four additional upper division lecture or lecture lab courses. We are especially interested in candidates with a background that can contribute to biological data science requirements, such as effective use of Python or R.

Qualifications
Preferred candidates will hold a Ph.D. or have ABD status (with Ph.D. in hand by 9/1/2025) in Biology or related discipline and experience conducting analysis of biological data.
