St. Norbert College (SNC), a nationally-ranked, private, Catholic, liberal arts college is seeking a Cashier for Ruth's Marketplace. This position provides excellent customer service and radical hospitality while managing payment reconciliation into Ruth's Marketplace. The Cashier plays a key role in supporting the overall operations of the Dining Services unit, handling various clerical and data entry tasks while maintaining a high level of collaboration with Dining management.
This position generally works Monday - Friday from 6:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. and every 5th weekend. This position offers flexibility to be either a 9-month (academic-year) or a 12-month recurring role, depending on the candidate's preference. The starting pay is $16.00 per hour.
Specific responsibilities:

Provides clerical support for service managers including answering phones, data entry, filing, and online service requests. Enters daily customer counts and updates electronic and posted menu signs. Assists with data entry related to menu service layouts, work standards, closing duty checklists, and equipment maintenance and repair logs.

Monitors meal plan transactions at the point of sale. Reconciles multiple payment forms including cash sales, credit card, service order contracts, and One Card meal plan transactions. Maintains daily cash bag balances and receipts.

Communicates effectively with all internal and external customers. Answers questions and responds to feedback in a courteous and professional manner. Communicates with staff on all Event Management System service order updates and guest contracts. Educates and enforces meal plan policies while maintaining the Sacred Dignity of all guests.

Sets and cleans up, and stocks and replenishes food, equipment, and dinnerware during shifts. Cleans and sanitizes all work areas, equipment, and supplies.

Serves as the shift supervisor overseeing service of meal plan and student staff in Marketplace on scheduled weekends.
Required Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

1-2 years of experience in the institutional or retail food service industry.

3-4 years experience with data entry and customer service

Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse campus environment or commitment to do so as an employee of St. Norbert College.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to interact professionally with coworkers and customers and resolve customer service issues.

Ability to multitask, meet specific deadlines, and prioritize tasks and assignments.

Skilled in basic math computations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Knowledge of how to use a cash register preferred and ability to learn upgrades as needed.

Ability to concentrate and focus in a noisy environment.

Ability to exercise good judgment and decisions expeditiously.

Skilled at setting a good example for others.

Computer experience in Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Calendar, & Gmail preferred.
