Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit:The primary purpose of the UNCG Center for Translational Biomedical Research is to conduct basic and translational research in human diseases, with focuses on biomarkers for early diagnosis of disease, understanding of disease pathogenesis, and development of novel interventions for disease prevention and treatment.

This Post-Doctoral Fellow position is expected to focus on immunopeptidomics of type 1 diabetes and autoimmune diseases for a better understanding of the pathogenic mechanism of these diseases using cellular and models. The position will perform grant-funded research projects, including experimental design, sample preparation, data acquisition, data analysis and interpretation, manuscript preparation, and research presentation at national/international meetings.
Minimum Qualifications:The minimum qualifications for this position include a PhD degree in the field of Immunology, Molecular Pathology, Molecular Biology or Life and Biomedical sciences; fully trained in immunology and molecular pathology techniques, experienced in islet biology, cellular immunology, and flow cytometry.
Preferred Qualifications:The candidate for this position should be self-motivated, have critical thinking and independent working skills, possess sufficient communication skills, and the ability to work with others in a collaborative research environment.
