Learning Experiences and Innovation
Learning Experiences & Innovation (LXI) is the ‘go-to’ service across the Exeter learning community in uplifting our students, academics, staff and partners to co-create a distinctive learning experience where every learner thrives. LXI consists of seven main units; Educator Development, Student Voice & Change, Learning Development, Learning Design, Experimentation & Innovation; Programme Design & Quality Enhancement, and Educational Policy, Quality & Standards. The teams work alongside and in support of several portfolios focussed on the University’s key strategic aims (Online Education, Education Strategic Delivery, Innovation Piloting and Scaling, and Taught Portfolio) and the priorities of its Faculties (Environment, Science and Economy; Health and Life Sciences; Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences).
Summary of the role
The Head of Educator Development is an exciting role leading the Educator Development. The team works with staff across all areas of the university and all its campuses to undertake pedagogical research, shape education strategy and policy, develop and deliver training and guidance to teachers and learners at all stages of their career, and support education innovation and excellence both at the institution and across the sector. The post-holder will lead the team in these activities through contribution to working parties, steering groups, and other strategic education meetings, working particularly closely with the Vice-President and DVC Education and Student Experience, Dean for Taught Students, and Dean for Postgraduate and Online.
