ADJUNCT TEACHING SPECIALIST – POSITION DEPARTMENT DIVISION
POSITION
This is a short-term and/or temporary online and/or on-campus Sport
Media and Communications teaching position for the University of
Minnesota – Crookston Campus’s Department Department for the
2024-2025 academic year.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and teach courses
- Advise students with regard to academic concerns and
school-related organizations
- May Provide service related teaching duties
- Participate in the decision relation to the policies, courses,
and programs which there is involvement
- Continuing personal growth within the profession, keep current
with the field and broaden knowledge and expertise.
Develop and deliver high-quality course instruction to
undergraduate students in coursework in
the field of Sport Media and Communication. This individual will
teach representative courses in
the field such as: Introduction to Sport Communication, Multimedia
Production, Sport Broadcast
Production, and Sport Media Writing and other communication classes
to serve the needs of the
Communication program (see below for full curriculum
listing).
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree, preferably in the teaching discipline (Sports
Communication and Media, Sports Information or related field)
- Or, Master’s Degree in another field, plus 18 graduate credits
in the teaching discipline
- A terminal degree in the discipline or related area is
preferred
- Professional and/or teaching experience related to assigned
instructional responsibilities
- Candidates must be willing to demonstrate self-awareness,
cultural competencies, and achievement in working with diverse
student populations.
- Excellent oral, written, interpersonal skills
- Ability to read, write, and understand English
- Candidates must be eligible to work within the United
States

Pay and Benefits
Pay Range: $1,300-$1,500 per credit based on experience,
course, and enrollment; depending on
education/qualifications/experience.
Retirement plan options are available for Civil Service, Faculty,
Labor-Represented, Professional & Administrative, and Temp
Casual classifications.
